Welcome Im Alphonse :)

Hey everybody, my name is Alphonse and well i kinda stole my mom's computer so i could make a blog :P
Well here this is a picture of me and i was saved from a mean pet store on September 3, 2011... It was horrible in that place i was around all these other fish and most of them were dead.... i thought i was going to die too, that is until a nice person brought me home.
                 This is what i was brought home in, and it was small and dirty.

Then i was put in this vase with a bamboo plant.  It was a huge upgrade from that small little cup like thing.

I had space to swim and finally stretch my fins.  I spent a lot of time swimming in and out of the bamboo plants, and looking around my new home.

So i spent a lot of the beginning of my new life in this vase, but my mom realized it was to small and hard to get me out of when i needed my water cleaned.  So she went out and got me my very own bowl. It was a lot bigger, and had about a gallon of water with some of those colorful class stones and of course my favorite bamboo plant.

I still loved to swimm in and out of my roots :D

And so i lived here for a while, but new neighbors moved in to a tank next to me... they were these really colorful guppy things.

At first, I didn't like them at all.  They had a big fancy 5 gallon tank and i had my little bowl... but then i grew to like them, or at least put up with them, 

So i was put in their tank, with the hopes that i wouldn't attack them and that they wouldn't attack me.

So this is me now, i am happy and have a lot of space.  Sometimes i get annoyed with the guppies and sometimes they get annoyed with me (especially during the night).  There has only been a couple of injuries and nipped tails but besides that, i think i will live long here.
But there is one problem, the power filter that is in my tank  is too strong of an output current.  My mom has tried everything from sponges to a piece of plastic to cover the output in hopes it would help, but the current still makes it tough to swim.
If anyone knows of a good filter with low output current then please tell my mom cause the current can be a little stressful. Thank you
